Grace Mary Welch, 60, of Indianapolis, died Monday, April 24, 2017. She was born September 24, 1956 in Indianapolis to the late Thomas A. and Ann H. (Hils) Welch. She was the middle child of 13, life-long Indianapolis resident, and a graduate of St. Joan of Arc Grade School, Chatard High School, and Indiana University. She enjoyed being involved in the community. She was proud to work at FC Tucker for 37 years as a 4th generation realtor. Grace was involved with MIBOR, Riviera Club, Indianapolis Public Schools, City Center, and St. Mary’s Child Center to name just a few. She loved music and swimming. For 30 years she and many friends vacationed at Palisades Park. Grace will be remembered for always having an open door for visitors, spoiling her nieces and nephews, and celebrating, especially holidays and birthdays.
Grace is survived by her long-time friend, Ron Kendrick; siblings, Theresa (Lonny) Nees, Agnes Welch Taylor, Mary (Bill) Aiken, Rita Welch, Tom (Bonnie) Welch, Vincent (Pam) Welch, Bernard Welch, Martha (Michael) Mendez, Pete (Julie) Welch, Ed (Beth) Welch, Mag (Dave) Zauner, and Greg Welch; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, Bill (Jennifer) and Joseph Aiken, Neal Aiken, Abby (Eddie) and Ben and Charlotte Hitze, Andy (Aimee) and Elle and Luke Taylor, Kris (Jason) and Owen and Audrey Byrnes, Laura Taylor, Kate (Aaron) and Lucy Rarick, Melinda Welch, Aaron (Stephanie) and Avi Nees, Sean Welch, Steven (Paige) Welch, Samantha Welch, Thomas Welch, Emily Welch, Matthew Welch, Natalia Welch, Isaac Welch, Ian Welch, Herbert Clay Miller III, and Lydia Mendez.
She will also be sadly missed by her extended family and numerous friends.
Visitation will be 3-8 pm Sunday at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E 71st St. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Monday at St. Joan of Arc, 4217 Central Ave. with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Indianapolis.
