GRACE ELIZABETH HIGHBAUGH PARKS MULLIGAN
GRACE ELIZABETH HIGHBAUGH, the younger daughter of Rosie Lee and Joseph Henry Highbaugh, hailed her sunrise on June 10, 1926 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
GRACE was educated in the Indianapolis Public Schools attending elementary school #42 and graduating in 1944 from Crispus Attucks High School. After graduating from Walker Beauty School, she was a hairstylist for several years.
GRACE professed her faith in Christ at a young age. She was a former member of Witherspoon Presbyterian Church.
GRACE was united in marriage to Samuel Parks. This union yielded a daughter, Judith. This marriage was dissolved. Grace later married Charles Lee Mulligan and shared 57 years of marriage.
To this union a daughter, Sharon, and three sons, Charles, Jr., Dwayne and Daryl were born.
GRACE was a Federal employee working at Fort Benjamin Harrison, U. S. Postal Service and Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Grace retired after completing 27 years of Federal service in 1987.
GRACE enjoyed sewing and traveling particularly to the west coast to visit her California family. She also enjoyed taking cruises.
GRACE was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Henry Highbaugh; mother, Rosie Lee Famber Highbaugh; son, Charles Lee Mulligan, Jr.; grandson, Antoine Pierre Mulligan; husband, Charles Lee Mulligan, Sr.; and sister, Ethel Eugene Highbaugh Bowman.
GRACE’S sunset came April 5, 2020 at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 26 days.
GRACE leaves cherished memories for daughters, Judi (Roderic) Trabue; Sharon (Jerry) Pounds; sons, Dwayne (Mercy) Mulligan, Sr.; Daryl Mulligan; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; niece; nephews and cousins.
GRACE is without harm after making her Heavenly transition to join the Lord in humble submission.
Precious Lord, take my hand; lead me on, help me stand; I am tired, I am weak, I am worn,
Through the storm, through the night, lead me on to the light; take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.
