Glenn Becker Hirst

Glenn Becker Hirst, 88, Indianapolis, passed away February 23, 2020. He was born October 20, 1931 in Hamburg, IL to Carroll and Beulah (Becker) Hirst. Glenn grew up on a farm in Calhoun County, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Glenn enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, and American Legion Post 220. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, John, Irvin, Keith, and Vera. Glenn is survived by his wife of 59 years, Emily (Okai) Hirst; his children, Gwen Judy (Tim), and Douglas Hirst (Linda); his grandson, Brice Ofsansky (Chelsea); two great-granddaughters; his siblings, Kenneth Hirst and Moina Miller (Orville); his sister-in-law, Anna June Hirst; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Legion.
