Gerard, also known as Jerry to many friends, graduated from Little Flower grade school and Scecina Memorial High School. He married his high school sweetheart Anna Davidson, and together they raised three sons.
Jerry began his working career at Jerry Miller Carpets while in high school, followed by 15 years at Chem-Lawn, then a period of self-employment in construction. Finally, Jerry worked for Davis & Assoc. as a Union Carpenter until his retirement in 2020.

Gerard loved spending time with his family. He loved to go biking and walking with Anna. Once his grandkids came along, they became his pride and joy. He loved going to their activities and sporting events including tae kwon do, basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, and gymnastics.
Gerard is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Anna McMahon; his sons Michael McMahon, Patrick McMahon (Laura) and Kevin McMahon (Erin); his brothers Larry McMahon (Olivia), Pat McMahon (Becky), Robert McMahon Jr., Jeff McMahon (Cathy) and his sister Kelle Hall (Tracy); his grandchildren Finnegan McMahon, Dexter McMahon, Madoc McMahon and Nora McMahon.
