63, of Indianapolis, departed this life at home on Thursday, December 15, 2016. His heart was just so weakened by heart disease that even modern science couldn't keep it pumping. Which is ironic because you will never meet anyone with a stronger heart. George was born October 7, 1953, in Bloomington, Indiana, to the late Martin Irving and Carolyn Gale (Brummett) Knudson. George grew up and attended Bloomington High School and Indiana University. He had lived in Indianapolis since 2003. George loved all sports, but was especially elated to see his Cubbies win the World Series this year. He rarely missed an IU basketball game or an open wheel series race. He was a treasure trove of information about classic rock and bluegrass music. Any “big” screen time included watching political coverage or old movies. On the small screen, he spent hours surfing the net for surfing competitions and reading about exotic locales. George is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Gallo; her daughter, Beth (Anna Glowinski) Droste-Glowinski; and grandchildren, Ellie, Lila, and Josie. He was preceded in death by Debbie’s daughter, Jennifer Droste, in 2003. George is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Sunny and Al Gallo, brothers-in-law, Mark (Allison) Gallo and Gregg (Tom Prince) Gallo, and sister-in-law, Elaine (Robert) Pesto. At George’s request, no formal services are scheduled. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association: www.heart.org
