George was born on August 13, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to George C. Kennedy Sr. and Luella Marshall. George went to serve his country in the United States Army in 1955.
George is survived by his wife, Gala; his children, Sandy Groninger, David (Karen), Kyle Fishers (Jon), George III (Pam), Steve; stepson Jeffrey A. Dupree (Lori), step granddaughter Jessica C. Dupree; 8 grandchildren, Melissa McDonald (Geoff), Megan, Ian, Nancy, Sarah, Sam, Emma, Leah; 3 great grandchildren, Madison, Connor, Liam. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Nancy Heppenstall and sister, Sally Fownes.
After George attended Shady Side Academy in Pittsburg in 1951, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts at Trinity College in June, 1955. After the Army, George went to work for the Aluminum Company of America in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and began a successful career in executive sales.
George also obtained his Private Pilot License on September 8, 1990. He received a Pilot Proficiency Award Program in June, 1996 and B-17 Flight Experience Award in August 27, 2005.
A visitation will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 North Meridian Street, on Saturday, December 3rd from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 AM in the Chapel.
