George, the sixth of twelve children, was born to the late Rev. Frank and Annie Belle Cheesebourough on November 24, 1932, in Lake Hamilton, Florida. The Lord called him to eternal rest on Wednesday September 25, 2024.
At an early age, George was dedicated to Christ. His connection with God was rooted in his youth
from his parents. In 1960, he became a member of Trinity CME Church, under the pastorate of the late Rev. James L. Cummings.
George was educated in the public-school systems of Lake Hamilton, Dundee and Haines City, Florida. In 1953 he worked as a seasonal employee with Farm Bureau for 6 months. He was employed for 12 years with The Peanut Product Company. He later retired after 31 years from Bryant Heating and Cooling (Carrier Corporation) as an assembly. During this time, he only missed 3 days from work.
George had an extraordinary gift for landscaping and took pride in maintaining an immaculate yard. Also, he was an amazing cook and was knowledgeable of history, politics and current events worldwide. He
captured the minds of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with some of the most hilarious
jokes, stories and heart-warming experiences of his life. Those stories are still being shared and passed
down through 5 generations of George’s.
Thank God for George’s wonderful 91 years of love, teachings, lessons, leadership, courage, and power he brought to our family and the world. His memories will be cherished by his daughter’s Linda
A. Cheesebourough and Nikki Cheesebourough (whom both share his birthday of November 24th); Bernice Smith (Sister); ;14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 12 great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members.
Preceding him in death are his wife; Robbie M. Cheesebourough (married 71 years), sons; George
F. Cheesebourough Jr. (“Freddie”), and Anthony Cheesebourough.
A memorial visitation for George will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
Family have requested that all family and friends please don't wear black attire to Mr. Cheesebourough Celebration of Life but something colorful.
