Eunice F. Boyd Dickerson

Eunice Dickerson, was born April 29, 1925 in Guthrie, Kentucky. She was the daughter of James Henry Boyd and Mary Merriweather Boyd. Eunice was one of nine children. Eunice attended public schools in Guthrie, KY. She was united in holy matrimony to Shelton Dickerson on August 13, 1943. The couple relocated to Indianapolis, IN. To this union eight children were born, 3 boys and 5 girls. Eunice loved to cook and spend time with family. She was known for her Sunday dinners that included anyone who stopped by. She loved to garden. Besides vegetables she also grew beautiful flowers. She loved attending baseball games, traveling, listening to blues and gospel music. For many years, Eunice was employed as a Domestic Engineer while being a devoted wife and mother. Eunice joined Mt. Olive M.B. Church and she also attended Scott U.M. Church. Eunice departed this earth on May 6, 2023 at the age of 98 years young. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, son Donald, daughter Rosa Lane, sons-in-law George Lane and Anthony Stevenson. Eunice leaves to cherish her memory, 2 sons, William (Patricia), Bennet (Fannie) Dickerson. 4 daughters, Shirley Byers, Jacqueline Dickerson, Mary Stevenson and Cynthia (Juan) Howard. Sixteen grandchildren, and several great & great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
