Ethel Laura Dominiczak Thibodeau was born in Pulaski, Wisconsin, just outside Green Bay, on June 13th, 1931 to Lawrence and Barbara (Nowicki) Dominiczak. She grew up on a farm with her 5 other siblings and she lost her father at 10 years old. She graduated from Pulaski High School, then moved to Milwaukee with friends and cousins for roommates. She worked at Alan Bradley and met her future husband, Les Thibodeau, at a bar. Les was from Ashland, Wisconsin, served in the US Army and attending Milwaukee School of Engineering on the GI bill. They were married June 20th, 1953 and journeyed to Lancaster, PA, Findlay, OH, Rozelle, IL, then Indianapolis, IN, with dad’s 35 years with RCA. Along the way, they had 6 children that filled their lives with nonstop school, church, sporting events, as well as yearly 2 week trips to Wisconsin to visit numerous relatives and attend the Green Bay Packers training camp. Ethel was a devout Catholic and always felt that finding a great church was key in making so many friendships in her life. After losing Les in 1992, Ethel embarked on her favorite pastimes of traveling, shopping, and cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers. She took many trips to CA, to visit son Marcel, to FL to visit family friends Diana and Mark Black, and numerous trips to Wisconsin to visit relatives, mainly with her daughter Barbara. She also had 3 trips to Europe, the last one at age 83 where she was 6 feet from Pope Benedict at the Vatican with daughter Suzie.
Ethel is survived by her sister Grace Leverenz, sons Marcel (Barbara) Mark (Sue) Matt (Jane) Thibodeau and daughter Suzie Purol (Matt), 8 grandchildren, Nicole Nguyen (Lam), Jessica Trimble (Brad), Michael Purol (Amy) , Tracy Van Treese (Jordan) Keith Thibodeau (Mallory Earle), Cassie Noone (Michael), Maddie and Rachel Thibodeau and 8 great grandchildren plus one on the way. She was predeceased by husband Les, son Michael and daughter Barbara Moore (Bob) and 3 brothers, Jack (Marcella), Donald (Marlene) and Larry (Celine) Dominiczak and sister Alvina Piechocki (Norm). She spent the last 4 years at Marquette Manor independent living and was grateful for the people she met and the wonderful employees. Special thanks to Robin Colver with Marquette Cares and Amanda Polston with Paradigm Hospice.
