Erin Shelbourne Miller, loved by all who knew her, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the age of 43. A graduate of North Central High School class of 1996 and St. Mary of the Woods College class of 2000, Erin will be most remembered for her genuine heart of gold, her immense generosity, and her incredible devotion to family, friends, and students. Always ready to help those in need, Erin will be deeply missed by her communities at both St. Luke and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Churches. More than anyone, though, her husband of 20 years, Brian, and her four beloved children, Hannah, Andrew, Adam, and Molly, will forever feel the void left by their loss and treasure the memories of her love. Her children, especially, absolutely adored her and know that she was the best mom ever!
An avid horse lover, Erin showed horses in her youth and competed on the equestrian team in college. She taught kindergarten following college, but put her career on hold to perform the job she loved even more — raising her beloved children. She returned to teaching in 2017 and began teaching preschool at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in 2018. Erin never turned down an opportunity to help someone in need — no matter the time of day, the nature of the request, or the sacrifice required. She will truly be missed by all.
Erin is survived by her husband, Brian P. Miller, her children: Hannah Marie, Andrew Patrick, Adam Kendrick, and Molly Ann Miller; her parents, Dr. K. Donald and Carol Ann Shelbourne and her brothers John (Paige) Shelbourne and Brian (Katie) Shelbourne. Her husband’s grandmother, Joan O’Brien, her husband’s parents, Tom and Kathleen Miller, her seven brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law, 18 nieces and nephews and many, many other relatives also loved her deeply.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 2nd at 11:30 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church and via livestream at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC62ttpd3ao6fe5RR0SPmxnA. Family and friends will gather at St. Luke Catholic Church’s gymnasium on Sunday, August 1st from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
