It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric J. Arnold, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Known for his love of family, comical nature, and an unwavering relationship with God, Eric was a remarkable individual that put everyone he met at ease.
Eric was born on January 13, 1954, in Indianapolis to James and Freda Arnold (deceased). He graduated from North Central High School in 1972. After working for several years at TransCon Lines, he continued his education at the J. Everett Light Career Center, where he completed the licensed practical nurse program in 1993, marking the beginning of a compassionate career in healthcare and his ongoing dedication to helping others at medical facilities throughout Indianapolis, including St. Vincent Hospital.
In 1976, Eric embarked on a beautiful journey of love and family when he married Sharae Catley. His journey was marked by the raising of three daughters: Erica, Cortney, and Lindsey.
Eric's life was a testament to his unwavering spirit and commitment to personal growth. His achievements were diverse and inspiring, from changing careers, to learning to play tennis and learning to swim as an adult, to taking guitar lessons for several years, and also earning a brown belt in martial arts.
A devoted member of Grace Apostolic Church, Eric found joy and solace in his faith. Baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost, he initiated and served in various ministries, including the Street Meeting Ministry, Nursing Home Ministry, and Women’s Prison Ministry.
Beyond his professional and spiritual pursuits, Eric found joy in hobbies like playing tennis, playing guitar, and reading. His unique talent for puppets and ventriloquism added a special touch to family gatherings, reflecting his playful and comical nature.
During his courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease, Eric remained steadfast in his faith. His legacy of kindness, unwavering faith, and infectious humor will forever be etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
