Eloise Duncan

Frances Eloise (Foster) Duncan, 99, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away December 17, 2022. She was born June 10, 1923 in Macomb, Illinois to the late Robert A. and Estelle (Stambaugh) Foster. She and her late husband Bob moved to Muncie, Indiana, in 1949. A few years later Bob founded Lift-A-Loft Corporation, and Muncie became her home for over 50 years. In 2000, Eloise relocated to Carmel, Indiana.

Eloise was a loving Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her family was everything to her and her priority. Her happiness was spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime of all was attending activities her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were involved in. Through the years she was able to attend three generations of sporting events where someone in her family was involved.

She was an avid reader and well versed on history as well as current events. Eloise followed all sports, and especially enjoyed watching IU, the Pacers and the Colts. She was an insufferable Cubs fan.

Eloise is survived by four children, Foster (Judy) Duncan, Nancy Duncan, Janice Moon, and Steve (Janet’) Duncan. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Patsy (Kent) Howell, Geoff (Julie) Duncan, Jason (Tracey) Patterson, Brandon (Ashley) Patterson, Allison Duncan (Justin Morris), and Lucas (Macey) Duncan. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert Gordon Duncan (1978) and her daughter, Carol Jean Duncan (1999).

A gathering with friends and family will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 3-5 PM at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. A private inurnment will be held at Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie, Indiana.
