93, of Indianapolis died August 7, 2015 in Lafayette, Indiana.
She was born February 24, 1922 to John and Edna Nesius in Remington, IN, and was raised on the family farm there.
Dorothy married Charles A. Turner on January 2, 1945 in Lafayette and the couple spent most of their lives in Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Charles E. Turner, her parents and seven siblings.
She is survived by daughters Nancy Piggott (husband Mike) of Battle Ground, IN; Carol Kriener (husband John) of Elon, NC; Mary Miller (husband Gary) of Auburn, WA; and daughter-in-law Jacqueline Turner, of Raleigh, NC, along with eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Geist. She was an active volunteer much of her life and especially enjoyed making puppy pillows for Community Hospital. She was proficient at basket weaving, knitting, card making, and other various crafts that she enjoyed sharing as gifts to family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 11, 10:30 am in Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Geist with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
