Dianne Cook age 65 of Avon, Indiana passed away December 27, 2022. She was born March 19, 1957 in Beech Grove, Indiana, the middle child of Joseph F. Owens of Pikeville, Kentucky and Misae Jean Hiruta Owens of Yokosuka, Japan. Dianne’s beauty always radiated from within. She could make you cry and laugh at the same time. Dianne touched so many people’s lives. She was compassionate, loving, and willing to help others at a moment's notice.
Dianne was a daughter, sister, wife, second mother to all her nephews and nieces. At times, she also took the mothering love she had to the people she worked with. We have heard so many stories about the California Center for the Arts in Escondido where she was a Bartender/Bar Supervisor where she impacted so many young minds.
Her family called her the “Energizer Bunny”. Her friend affectionately called her “Battery Bunny” Dianne was always on the go. One minute you would see her, the next minute she would be off doing something else. Dianne worked most of her life as a Legal secretary for various lawyers: Attorney at Law Roy Garrett, Judge Rick Mills, and Attorney at Law Mark Chambers representing people charged with Federal Crimes. Dianne retired from being a Legal Secretary in Escondido, California where she spent most of her life. All the time she was a full time Legal Secretary, she always had a second job at Mervyn’s or the Art Center. Throw in the fact she would take all her nephews and nieces to the skating rink, park, movies or the Family Fun Center when she wasn’t at work. She loved her cats where she would affectionately named them after sodas: Pepsi, 7-Up, Root Beer and RC. After she retired, she moved to Avon Indiana to take care of her mother. She started working at FreshThyme Market in 2017 where she retired last year but she returned part-time. She also made many fond impressions with the people she came in contact with there.
She will be missed by her brother, Lloyd and his wife Pam, her sister Doris and her husband Marty, her nephews and nieces: David Owens, Daniel Owens, Joshua Wood, Erin Wood, Joseph Owens, and Christian Dianne Snawder. Her great nephews and nieces: Tyler and Emma Owens, Noah, Daphne and Bailey Owens.
You will live in our hearts forever and we will miss you like there is no tomorrow.
Please make any Memorial contributions to your local Feline/Cat adoption and rescue shelters.
Family and Friends will have a Celebration of Life Sunday Memorial Weekend Sunday May 28th at Ellis Park in Danville, Indiana. More information will be released in May.
