Delores Gray, affectionately known to friends and family as "Dee-Dee" began her journey on May 27, 1950 in New York City, NY, she was the beloved only child of the late George and Isabella H. Philpot. Dee-Dee received her primary and secondary education in New York City and was a graduate of William Howard Taft High School. Dee-Dee loved the Lord. She accepted Christ and was a member Eastern Star Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana
Dee-Dee in union with the late husband, Warren Williams welcomed her first son, Darnell Williams on April 3, 1972. After the passing of her husband Warren and both parents, George and Isabella, Dee-Dee decided to move to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1977. On April 1, 1980 Dee-Dee and Richard W. Gray Sr., welcomed her second son, Richard W. Gray Jr. Dee-Dee and Richard W Gray, Sr. were later united in holy matrimony in 1985, with this union Dee-Dee was blessed to also become a mother to Sean, Shannon, Katrice and LaTonya. Dee-Dee was known for her love for music and dance, almost as much as she was known for her love of family and friends. Dee-Dee loved spending time with her family and her extensive network of friends. Those that knew her, knew how generous she was with her time and resources for all of her friends, family and those in need.
Delores "Dee-Dee" Gray departed this life on September 23, 2018 at the age of 68 years old.
Dee-Dee leaves to cherish her memory her husband Richard W. Gray Sr., her loving sons and daughters, Sean Gray, Darnell Williams and Richard W. Gray Jr., LaTonya Gray-Owens, Katrice Gray, and Shannon Gray; her beautiful and handsome grandchildren, Alexis, Cameron, Dion, Giavonni, Justice, Jurnee, Se'ana, and Taylor; four great grandchildren; the "Sisters", a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
