Deborah Sue Farkas, age 72, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. Debbie was born September 15, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana to Francis J. and Aurelia "Rally" Drzewiecki. She graduated from Washington High School in South Bend. After high school, she attended Indiana University South Bend where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree and met the love of her life, Frank Farkas.
Debbie was an office manager with DalTile Indianapolis prior to her retirement. Debbie loved reading romance and mystery novels. She also enjoyed sudoku puzzles, word puzzles, bingo and the penny slots at any casino. Debbie got involved in the Ladies of Officers (LOO) club when her husband joined The Moose Lodge #17. She organized coat and clothing drives for the underprivileged, helped with legion breakfast and supported Women of the Moose (WOTM) bingo. Debbie loved spending time with her family enjoying one day trips to unique restaurants, black friday shopping and outlet malls. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddogs and grandcats.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 49½ years, Frank Farkas; children, Allyson (Jason) Hurst and Vanessa (Aaron) Graeb; grandson, Nicholas Dean Hurst; siblings, Margaret Boocher and Paul (Betty) Drzewiecki; and several nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard "Dick" Drzewiecki; brother-in-law, Elmer Boocher; and sisters-in-law, Beth Drzewiecki and Carol Drzewiecki.
A visitation for Debbie will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 PM.
