David Michael Sauer

David M. Sauer Born February 22, 1944 to Paul and Elizabeth Sauer in Indianapolis, IN, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011. His high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Marcia, preceded him in death on October 27, 2009. Dave was a devoted and loving father to Christine, who also preceded him in death, and he is survived by three children, David (Nancy) Sauer of Greenwood, IN, Gina (Mike) Campbell of Prospect, KY, Dede (Dan) Hutmacher of Fishers, IN; ten grandchildren he adored, Nathan, Natalie, Nicholas, Nolan, Sarah, Rachel, Anna, Danielle, Jake and Morgan; and sister, Marianne (Frank) Klobuchar. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ed and Charles Sauer. Dave graduated from Sacred Heart High School. He retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department in 1999 after 28 years of service. When Dave was not at the firehouse, he worked as a barber on the south side of Indianapolis. Dave was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
