Mr. David Howse, the son of the late John M. Howse and Amanda Branham Blewitt, was born on June 8th, 1938 in Bethpage, Tennessee. David attended Durham’s Chapel public school and graduated from Union High School of Gallatin Tennessee.
David professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Durham’s Chapel Baptist Church in Bethpage and attended Key Methodist Church in Gallatin, Tennessee as a child after which he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana.
After moving to Indianapolis, David united himself in Holy Matrimony to Eloise Riley. He changed his membership to Greater Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church and later, to the Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church, where he regularly attended services until his health began to fail, and he could no longer continue.
David loved to eat good food. He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family during the holidays. David was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He had many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved him and enjoyed being in his presence. He was a quiet and gentle man who believed in providing for his family.
David retired in 1999 after working for more than thirty years at Citizen’s Gas and Coke Company in Indianapolis.
Mr. Howse departed this life on December 5, 2020. He was 82 years old. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife Mrs. Eloise Howse, two daughters, Kimlyne Howse, and Nicole Howse, adopted son, Mr. James Farrell (Velma) and one godson, Mr. Patrick Parker, all of Indianapolis, Indiana.
David also leaves to mourn his passing, two sisters, Frances Smith (Charles) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Patricia Welch (Chris) of Gallatin, Tennessee, three brothers in law, Clyde Smith (Val) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Willie Riley Sr. (Martha), of California, three sisters in law, Virginia Riley (Aaron), Ruthie Riley, both of Indianapolis, Indiana and Peggy Duffin (William) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
His four grandchildren, David L. Sanders, Brandon Hatcher, Kanisha Swanigan (Robert) and Christopher Thomas Jr. all of Indianapolis, Indiana, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and hose of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and caretakers from Rose Walk Village Nursing Facility. The hospice agency that helped to ease his transition is well appreciated.
He was preceded in death by his son Darren Carr, sisters, Ella Frances Dickens, Bonnie Lambert, Virginia Malone, Nancy Jumper, Mary Fletcher, and Mary Shaw.
David will be missed by all who knew him, and loved him!!!!
