GLENN attended Cleveland High School until he received the call to serve on January 25, 1951. Glenn served in the U. S. Army in the B 65th AA Gun BN APO 331 regiment. He was honorable discharged as a Sergeant on January 8, 1953.
Before he went to the army, he met Charlene Cleveland. When he returned home after his discharge, he married Charlene on June 6, 1953. They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and he became an employee at International Harvester Union Local 226 on June 18, 1953. He continued his education at Crispus Attucks High School. Glenn worked for International Harvester until he retired in April 1991. He had three daughters (Sylvia, Joyce, and Karla).
GLENN became a member of St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church in 1959. He also sang with the International Harvester Male Chorus for 22 years. At St. Mark, he served as a Preacher Steward, President of Senior Choir, on the Trustee Board, and served wherever needed. In 1997, he moved his membership to Jones Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church, where he continued to sing for the Lord in the Adult choir.
GLENN'S hobbies were bowling, tennis, and gardening.
DAVID "GLENN" DORSEY was called home on May 1, 2022, at 93 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Dorsey, and mother, Stella (Brown) Dorsey; his brothers Readus Dorsey, Bennie Dorsey, Robert Dorsey, and Donnie Dorsey; Sisters, Christine Dorsey and Gene Earl Moody.
GLENN is survived by his wife, Charlene Dorsey; daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia (Terrance) Smith, daughters; Joyce Miles and Karla Dorsey. He is survived by his brothers, Cecil Dorsey and Wallace Dorsey, Sister, and brother-in-law, Sharon (Alfred) Hampton. Grandchildren David Miles, Shayla (Josh) Hayden, Sean Dorsey, Shane Dorsey, Kevin Bennett Jr, and Charlene Shank. Great-grandchildren DaShawn Miles, Christopher McKinney, Paige Golden, Perry Golden, Paisley Golden, Ava Y. Dorsey, Mia L. Miles, and a host of nieces and nephews. His best friends are Rev. Freddie Bolden, Rev. John Moore, James Click, and Clete Ladd.
