At an early age, Darlene confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized. She later met the love of her life, Alden C. Brown, whom she married on September 24, 1976. From that union 2 children were born, twins Shawn T. (son) and Lashawn S. Kirk (daughter).
Darlene had a passion for food and worked in the restaurant industry, her last place of employment was Lilly Endowment, which she retired after 41 years of faithful service.
Darlene was truly an awesome mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was very outgoing, passionate, friendly, loving and overall a happy person who never met a stranger. She loved all her family and friends and enjoyed entertaining everyone. Even on her worst days, when her health was failing, when asked how are you feeling today, her response was always an "Great", "Wonderful", "Never felt better!".
Darlene K. Brown departed from this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the age of 64. She is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings; Carlos A., Malcolm E., Manuel E., Daniel E., and Richard K. Kirk. Those left to mourn her passing are her two children; Shawn T. Kirk (Kirby), Lashawn S. Nave (James), husband, Alden C. Brown, three grandchildren; Desiree, Dominque, Kayana, one great grandchild, Nomir, three sisters; Marie Bent (Anthony), Charlotte Parker, Tywana E. Kirk, one brother, William Kirk (Terri), one special sister; Jan McEwen (Barney), four sisters-in-laws; Marilyn Kirk, Tracy Kirk, Elaine Glover (Robert), Renee Hunt of Cleveland, OH, three brother-in laws; Tony Bent of Indianapolis, IN, Linell Brown of Virginia, Shawn Brown of Cleveland, OH. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
