It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Richard Stafford, a beloved member of our community. Daniel, aged 77, peacefully departed this life on December 31, 2023, surrounded by family at his home in Greenfield, Indiana. He was born on September 2, 1946, in Logan County, West Virginia, Daniel was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
Daniel was known for his humble, caring, and loving nature. He was a mentor to many and took pride in being kind to others.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Karen Stafford, his son Darrin Stafford, his daughter Malinda Copass, his granddaughter Karen Ann Steinberg, his granddaughter Kayla Copass, his granddaughters Danielle and Olivia Stafford, his great-granddaughter Cora LeCompte, and his brother Kenny Stafford. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Stafford, his mother Flora Stafford, his son Michael Stafford, his brother Walter Stafford, and his sisters Clara Stafford and Judy Stafford.
Daniel's life was characterized by his humble and gentle caring nature. He lived a life of service, both to his country and his community. As a proud veteran of the US Army, he exemplified honor, courage, and commitment.
In his professional endeavors, Daniel achieved notable success. From 1976 to 2019, he co-owned and served as the CEO of Stafford Liquors, a business that thrived under his leadership. Prior to that, he owned
Stafford Painting from 1970 to 1983, where he honed his skills as a master craftsman. Additionally, he co-owned Stafford Property Rentals, leaving a lasting impact on the local community.
Daniel found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep appreciation for the natural world and spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and embracing the beauty of the great outdoors. These cherished pastimes allowed him to connect with nature and find peace in the tranquility of his surroundings
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Daniel Richard Stafford on Friday, January 12th, 2024, from 11am to 2pm at the esteemed Crown Hill Funeral Home in Indianapolis, Indiana. In honor of Daniel's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, an organization dedicated to preventing heart disease and stroke.
