Charles Melvin Murray

Charles was hooked on golf after his first round of golf with his son-in-law, Rick. Twenty years later Charles’ reputation as Rocket Man echoes across the greens.

He was born November 21, 1937, in St. Louis County, Missouri to Melvin Ira and Dorothy May (Moller) Murray.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; Melvin and Dorothy; first wife Lulu Mae, and second wife Linda Ann; sisters, Jean Marie Murray (Hammack) and Deloris Murray; daughters, Donna Murray (Batchelor), Laura Stroud (Ogolini), Susan Murray (Fritz), Karla Murray (Baughman); and grandson, Joshua Murray; and great-granddaughters; Molly Stephens, Kymberlie Mae, and Angel Baughman.

Charles is survived by his brother Ronald Murray of Gray Summit, Missouri; sisters Shirley Ann Eckenfels of St. Clair, Missouri and Carol May Murray of Maumelle, Arkansas; son, Charles M Murray II of Martinsville, Indiana; daughters Colette Van Dyne of Bargersville, Indiana, Lisa Kingery-Zini of Effingham, Illinois; and Karen Mense (Murray) of Beaufort, Missouri. Charles’ family has 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He is fondly remembered and loved by all those who knew him. We miss you, Dad.
