Charles R. Farrell, 82, born 11-5-32 to Paul P. and Margaret E. (Leinenweber) Farrell passed peacefully on 4-25-15 after a courageous fight with Parkinson’s, he never lost his sense of humor or desire to enrich his family and friends. He graduated from St. Philip Neri Grade School in 1946, Cathedral High School (Class of 50), then joined the Air Force serving in the Korean War serving honorably from 1951- 1956. Married the love of his life, Loretta Helene Kirkhoff in 1959 who preceded him in death. They lovingly raised six children on the North side in Immaculate Heart of Mary parish, Charles J. (Angela) Farrell, Shannon (Michael) Fox, Kelley Farrell, Mike (Ellen) Farrell, Stephen (Maria) Farrell, and Molly (Alex) Tuttle, brother: Paul P. Farrell 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson. Charlie was an electrician by trade, founding his own firm CR Electric Co. in 1974 and retiring in 2005. An avid sportsman, Charlie enjoyed softball, tennis, IHM volleyball group and golf; as well as coached grade school basketball, little league baseball and donated time and talent to CYO. The St. Meinrad Golf Fundraisers he hosted for 20 plus years was especially important to him. Cathedral High School, where all six of his children attended, was the beneficiary of his time and talent and he was honored in 1997 for “Outstanding Service to Cathedral”. He proudly served the Indianapolis Archdiocese in the capacity of construction planning. Charlie was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Junto Club, Associated Builders and Contractors and numerous charities and organizations that benefitted greatly from his generosity. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28th, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 71st street at Keystone and Wednesday, April 29, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 29th, in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s patients immensely helped Charlie in his battle, and special thanks to his caregivers at Clearvista Lakes.
