Cathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She truly was the heart of the home. Cathy and Bill were a wonderful example of a loving, faith filled marriage. Their love for one another was evident every day for their entire lives. She shaped her children by her examples of faith, kindness to others, and giving back. Growing up, her children all new what her expectations were and worked hard not to disappoint her.
Cathy was famous for her pumpkin bread. She loved to bake it and give it to friends. It gave her great joy whenever her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came over to bake pumpkin bread or cookies with her. Her secret ingredient was “love”.
Once all of her children were in school, Cathy began a 28-year career as a pre-school teacher, teaching young children at Allisonville Christian Church Pre-school and Meridian Hills Co-op.
Cathy was a devoted and active member of St. Pius X for over 58 years. She was involved in the Women’s Club, SPRED, and the Funeral choir. One of her greatest contributions was promoting an annual women’s retreat at Fatima Retreat House. Cathy was also a dedicated volunteer for many years at Fatima Retreat House, chairing the High Tea fundraiser, serving food during retreats, as well as participating in and promoting many other activities.
