Carolyn Sue Griffith

Carolyn Sue Griffith (Owens), age 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. She was born March 31, 1948 in Keith, Kentucky to parents George O. Owens and Margie P. Owens (Lundy). Remembered for her vibrant faith and love of scripture, Carolyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a devoted wife and mother, having homeschooled her three grandchildren at various points. She enjoyed singing, and was a part of the Heart of Indiana and White River Sound women's barbershop choruses. Her other hobbies included cooking, gardening, and providing counsel and wisdom to any who asked. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, George O. Owens and Margie P. Owens; brother, Richard W. Owens; and her husband of 45 years, Richard E. Griffith. She is survived by her daughter Christina M. Griffith; son, Richard B. Griffith (Jackie); granddaughters, Katelyn E. Griffith and Hayley S. Griffith; grandson, Henry S. Donahue; stepson, Jim Miller (Liz); and step-grandchildren, Stephen, Abigail, Sarina, Logan, Matthew, AnnaLena, and Gracey; brothers, John (Cathy) Owens and Phil (Lori) Owens; sister, Elaine (Mike) Clark; several nieces and nephews; and her spoiled cat Oliver. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a service to follow at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46219.
