Obituary of Bret Allen House
Bret Allen House, 55, passed away at his home on October 5, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born on September 18, 1967, to Stephen T. House of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Camillia Frye House of Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Dayton Christian High School in 1985, and from Anderson University in 1989, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine, and was the founder of the men’s soccer program. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 1993 and completed his residency in family medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Dr. House practiced family medicine in Fishers, Ind., at American Health Network for 20 years, where he blessed the lives of his patients with his gentle demeanor and wisdom. Patients often commented about how well he listened to them and cared for them. Dr. House fought a long battle with multiple sclerosis with bravery, positivity, and a quiet strength. His eldest son Noah was his full-time caregiver for seven years. Noah and his brothers, Elijah, Asher, and Jaden meant the world to Dr. House, and he was so proud of the young men they have become. Before the multiple sclerosis took away his physical ability, Dr. House loved to play soccer, ski, and wrestle with his boys. In subsequent years, he enjoyed watching movies and sports, especially Ohio State football, with them and hearing stories from their lives. Along with his four boys, his mother, Camillia, and his father Stephen, Dr. House is survived by his siblings Doug, Chris (JoAnn), and Teri Claassen (Dan); nieces Lauren, Sienna, and Claire; nephews Landon, Aiden, Nicholas, Brandon, and Casey; his Aunt Milli and Uncle Ken Hatch, several cousins; and former wife and friend, Lynn Morton House. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ira and Marcile Frye of Englewood, Ohio, and his former father-in-law, James T. Morton. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday, October 10 at Common Ground Christian Church, 4550 N. Illinois Street, Indianapolis.
