

Birmel Lott Sr was born in Lumberton Mississippi on August 4, 1920 to Dock Lott and Maggie McCree. His parents, three sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death. He departed this life on January 16, 2013.
Birmel served in the United States Army in World War II. Upon leaving the military he entered into holy matrimony with Lessie Bell Evans on September 8, 1945. Five years later Birmel his wife and five children moved to Indianapolis Indiana where he worked as an Asphalt Laborer at Grady's Brothers Construction Company.
He was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He was loved in the church and was often referred to as the candy man.
Birmel leaves to cherish his memory 11 children: Johnnie Lott, Ethel Gibson (T.D.) Samuel Lott, Willie Lott, Birmel Lott, Jr., Leola McGrew, Barbara Belton, Elizabeth Starks, Mary Thompson, Reba Lofton (Thomas) and MacArthur Lott. He also leaves 13 grandchildren: Stephanie Williams, Sherry Lott, Shron Wallace (Donald), Vernon Lott, Birmel Lott III, Jason West, Detra Taylor-Tyler (Chris), Dante Lott, April Jammerson, Antonia Justice, Terrance Lofton, Marcus Lott, and Patrice Starks. He also has a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He leaves one brother Walter Lott Sr., and one sister Ruth Day.
