

Mrs. Bettye Jayne (Pullins) Greene, daughter of Elder Luther G. Pullins and Sadie (Lear) Pullins, was born August 18, 1932, in Indianapolis, IN. She received her elementary education in the Indianapolis Public School System and graduated from Crispus Attacks High School, class of 1950. She grew up in a household of strong faith in God in which her father served several years as Assistant Pastor of Christ Temple #2. As an adult she visited Grace Apostolic Church.
In 1966 she was united in holy matrimony to George M. Greene.
Bettye was employed at Central State Hospital as a supervisor in the 1960s. She was later employed at the Finance Center on Fort Benjamin Harrison Military Base, as a supervisor in the Finance and Payroll Department. During her years at the Finance Center, she was commended for outstanding performance (1973) and (1976) from the Department of The Army and retired in 1985.
Bettye had a passion for interior design and was an avid collector of antique furniture. She loved going to auctions, consignment shops, and yard sales.
Bettye departed this life July 5, 2021, at the age of 88 years to go home to be with the Lord.
Her parents Elder Luther G. Pullins and Sadie (Lear) Pullins; two brothers, Luther G. Pullins, Jr. and James R. Pullins; four sisters Mattie (Martha) W. Hines, Helen L. Whitfield, Marcella Wooden and Martha Pullins all preceded her in death.
She leaves us to cherish her in memory: her husband George M. Greene; son Gary J. Poole; two daughters Sherri C. Greene (James Wright) and Jill R. Wright (Gerry); three grandchildren William Corbin (Chloe), Fenessha James (Justin) and Amanda Greene Wright; One great grandchild Jaiden James; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
