Betty Jean Sellars

Betty moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she met and united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Thomas Lee Sellars on August 28, 1964 and they shared their lives together for 51 years.

Betty worked as a Nurse’s Aide at General Hospital for three years and was Head Chef at Saint Maur Monastery for eighteen years before retiring in 1994.Betty and Thomas united with Eastside Baptist Church and remained faithful members for many years. Betty was a Mentor and a very encouraging sister in church and anywhere she could help others. Betty loved to cook and go shopping. In her younger years she loved to go bowling with family and friends. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Betty Jean Harmon Sellars departed this life on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the age of 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Rev. Frederic Sellars; daughter, Linda Leonard and brother, Jimmy Harmon. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, beloved husband, Mr. Thomas L. Sellars;daughters, Sherry Anderson (Dennis); Karen Shealey; Tonya Wilson (Corneilus); and Dena Graham (Gordon); daughter in law, Lou Sellars; son in law, Michael Leonard; brother, Rev. Kenny Ray Walker; eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, the Eastside Church Family and many cherished friends.
