Barney is survived by his mother Jessie Irma Cox; children, Randall (Jennifer) Howell, Kimberly (Michael Sanders) Tucker, Patrick (Melissa) Carlton, Gwendolyn (Bill Merrick) Edwards, and Carrie (Billy Gibson, Jr.) Dockery; grandchildren, Dillon Houston Howell, Shelby Lynn Tucker, Connor Raylee Sanders, Shelby Lynn Carton, Ethan Charles Carlton, Payton Robert Carlton, Hayden Emmitt Carlton, Breanna Rose-Glenn Edwards, Joshua Shane Edwards Jr, Teresa Starr Edwards, Camren Scot Dockery, Hailee Nicole Dockery, Mark Randall Howell, and Wyatt James Howell; sisters, Ethel Faye Peele and Verna Jean Jones; brother, Joe K Carlton; sister-in-law, Shirley Carlton; step-grandchildren, Danielle Nicole Dockery, Jeri Lynn Noel, Devon Scott Hawblitzel, Brielle Gibson , Bailey Gibson, LB Merrick Jr, Michael Merrick, and Samathana Merrick.; former wives, Michelle Sprinkle and Beverly Howell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Carlton; brother, Douglas Carlton; and grandson, Caiden Lloyd Howell.

Visitation will be Monday, December 15th from 5-8 PM at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road. Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 16th at 10:30am, with calling one hour prior to funeral service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Crown Cemetery.
