Barbara J. Halvorson

86, of Indianapolis passed away on September 22, 2016. Barb was a beloved mother of 6 and grandmother of 10 and a parishioner and former choir singer at Christ The King Catholic Church, who truly embraced her Irish heritage. In her younger years, Barb was an active bowler and bridge player who loved spending her time at the Riviera Club. Most recently, she loved going to lunch with her friends and spending time with her family. Gram will be dearly missed by her children, Nancy (Paul) Rivers, Mark Halvorson, Mary Lou (Mark) Lee, Jeanne (Scott) Messmer, Tim (Katie) Halvorson, and Steve (Lisa) Halvorson; her grandchildren, Meghan, Christopher, Ricard, Kelsey, Marcus (Kristen), Jenny (Billy), Julianne, Elizabeth, Kelly and Brian; one soon-to-be, great granddaughter; her sister, Mary Kay (Don) Poinsette; and her sister-in-law, Carol Doyle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Halvorson and her brother, John C. Doyle. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 4-7pm in Feeney Hornak Keystone Mortuary. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 10am in Christ The King Catholic Church, preceded by 9:30am prayers at the Funeral Home.
