I extend my condolences to the Burke family for losing a prestigious man of Mr. Allen Burke. I applaud his paternal empathy on embracing Vincent C. Burke in 2017, as he met his 52-years old grandson for the first time. According to the 2007 UNICEF report regarding the effects of absentee fathers in children’s lives, there is a void in the children’s lives causing emotional insecurity, disconnection, and disengagement. I witnessed Vincent’s emotions of belongingness illuminate as Mr. Allen Burke greeted, welcomed, and embraced Vincent. After their conversation, Mr. Allen Burke addressed Vincent by calling him “son.” Significantly enough, the warmth of being called, “son” parentally sanctified Vincent’s self-identity as a Burke. For this, I am forever grateful for Mr. Allen Burke. 
To Wilhelmina, Vincent C. Burke, Joy, Bridget Fortune-Hunter, and the entire Burke family, I pray that God will mend your hearts and give you peace in your time of need. Always remember 2 Corinthians 1: 1-10; the earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
