Alexis D Moore

Alexis D. Moore was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Steve Moore and Marcia Colar on January 25, 1993. Later, Marcia Colar married Jimmie King who raised Alexis as his own daughter since she was three years old.

She was a graduate of Tech High School and she also attended IVY Tech to study Social Services. After high school, Alexis wanted to join the Air Force, but due to her having asthma, she couldn't enlist. She worked a variety of jobs but planted her roots at One America as an Associate Worker.

Alexis loved her family so much; but her greatest joy was her son August. They were practically inseparable. She loved taking pictures of him and sending them out to family and friends.

Alexis enjoyed cooking, especially desserts. You could always find her in the kitchen trying out new recipes and trying to update old recipes.

Alexis was preceded in death by Clifford O. Colar, grandmother and Calvin G. Colar, grandfather. Bonnie Sims and Chester Sims.

Alexis is survived by her son August (Augie), her brother Stephen Moore and parents Jimmie and Marcia Colar-King, and a host of cousins, aunties and uncles, and nephews.

A visitation for Alexis will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
