OBITUARY
Rev. Alan Gene Hurst
January 2, 1945 – July 23, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Reverend Alan Gene Hurst announces his passing on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the age of 73. Alan will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Anna of 54 years, and his children, Marcy (Tracy), Russell (Kelly), and William. Alan will also fondly be remembered by his seven grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda), Grant, Cole, Kiley, Quintin, Kennedy, and Kaydin, as well as his great grandson Henry.
Alan was a native of Eagleville, Missouri and was born on January 2, 1945. He graduated from North Harrison High School where he was well known for his clarinet playing ability and his leadership on the basketball court. From there he went on to attend Northwest Missouri State before becoming a minister. Alan served faithfully as a pastor for over forty years across five different states and six churches. He led Assembly of God churches in Albany, Missouri; Chesterton, Indiana; Fort Madison, Iowa; Richmond, Indiana; Johnstown, Pennsylvania; and Mount Airy, North Carolina. Parishioners remember Alan for his service minded leadership and gentle spirit.
Alan’s family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Friday, July 27th, at Heartland Church, 9665 Hague Road, Indianapolis 46256. A celebration of Alan’s life will follow at 6:30 pm. Memorial donations may be made in Alan’s name to Heartland Church.
