It is with great sadness he leaves to mourn his loving wife of 70 years, Ann (nee Pauliuk). His daughters Darlene (Lloyd) Tyson, Norine (Allan) Nichols, Angela (Bob) Jewitt, grandsons Brett (Erin) Tyson, Derrick Tyson (Rachel), Kyle Nichols (Andrea), Curtis Nichols (Karelia), sister Doreen Gigian, sister-in-law Josephine Bostock, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter was predeceased by his parents Albert and Etta(nee Sterling) Bostock, in-laws Theodore and Dochitza (nee Gigian) Pauliuk, brother Ken and sister-in-law Victoria (nee Pauliuk), brothers Roger Bostock and Robert Bostock, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, John (Janet) Pauliuk, Mary (John) Silzer, George (Victoria) Pauliuk, Alex Pauliuk.
Walter worked hard all his life, running a mixed farming operation and custom work as a caterpillar operator (including clearing bush for the existing #10 highway), custom hauling cattle and horses and welding. He was known to drop what he was doing to help friends, neighbours, and others who stopped by with a repair. That was his way.
Walter was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ann and Walter worked together as a team on the farm. They were devoted to each other and caring to the last day.
Walter loved his farming and seeding and harvest time. Meals and tea time in the field are fond family memories. He was a hard working, honest man.
Walter was a John Deere man and had several. Like they say, nothing runs like a Deere.
Walter bought Maine Anjou cattle in the 1970's from Agribition. He was one of the first farmers bringing these cattle to the area. Some of those genetics are still on the farm at McLean to this day.
Another of Walter's gifts was his sense of humor. He was always doing something or saying something to make us laugh and give us that funny grin.
He had lots of patience and would teach us things like how to drive or build a fence or teach his grand children how he would fix some machinery or a vehicle. He could fabricate a part for machinery so that he could get out and continue working in the field without too much down time.
We will miss dad for his kindness, his wisdom and his sense of humor. We will grieve and cry, but we will also laugh and smile for the memories he has left us with.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Thomas Anglican Parish Cemetery, Vernon District, P.O. Box 37, Qu'Appelle, Sk S0G 4A0, where a private graveside service will be held.
