RADCLIFFE - Mary Edith Radcliffe, formerly of Sintaluta, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Golden Prairie Nursing Home in Indian Head, Saskatchewan at the age of 98. Mary was predeceased by her husband Edgar in 1984, her mother Emma (Gan) Balfour; her father Johnston (Doss) Balfour; her sisters Maude (Roy) Harvey, Kate (Arnold) Lister, and Mabel (Bill) Clarke and her brothers Harry (Molly) Balfour and Jim Balfour. She is survived by her son Les (Carol) Radcliffe; her daughter Kay (Larry) Bonneville; grandchildren Brian (Nicki) Radcliffe, Linda (Mike) Ziebart, Peggy (Sean) Antonio, Shelly Radcliffe, Leah (Wayne) McBurnie, Sean (Vanessa) Bonneville and Bryce (Connie) Bonneville and 15 great grandchildren. Mary was born in the Maple Green District north of Wolseley, Sakatchewan on November 15, 1912 where she grew up on her parents' farm. She married Edgar Radcliffe in 1937 and they farmed together for 32 years, 9 years in the Maple Green area and the remaining 23 years 8 miles north of Sintaluta. In 1969 they moved into Sintaluta where they enjoyed 16 years of retirement together. After Edgar's death in 1985, Mary continued to live in her home in Sintaluta until 1997 when she moved into the Bell Court Senior Villas in Indian Head. She resided there for more than 10 years before moving briefly to Hayes Haven in Indian Head in 2008, then transferring to the Nursing Home in 2009. The Family would like to commend and thank the staff at Golden Prairie for their excellent care and attention during her entire 2 year stay, especially during the final days of her life. There will be a private family burial in Sintaluta Cemetery before the Celebration of Life which will be held at Tubman's Funeral Chapel, Wolseley, SK. on Monday March 28th. 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Suzanne Edgar officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sintaluta and District Community Hall, c/o. Chris Dolter, Box 233, Sintaluta, SK.
