Theodora “Teddy” Sirginous Ault, 90 of Independence, Missouri passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Rosewood Center at The Groves, Independence, Missouri. She most recently resided at The Gardens of Jackson Creek where she left many cherished friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday March 9, 2018 at Timothy Lutheran Church, 425 NW R. D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO 64014 following a visitation at 3:00 p.m. at the church. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Teddy was born February 4, 1928 to Aristides “Harry” Demitrios Sirginous and Grace Hannah Swigert Sirginous in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended Northeast High School and graduated from there in 1945. She married Donald Earl Ault on April 13, 1946. Don and Teddy lived in Independence, MO and had two children, Jo Ann Ault Clement and Ronald Lee Ault. Teddy worked for Singer Sewing Machine company and later spent many years working in the insurance industry. In 1985 Don and Teddy retired to their campground, The Black Forest, at Stockton Lake where they enjoyed playing golf, sailing, camping and fishing.
Teddy was a gifted artist and seamstress. Her home was filled with watercolor paintings, handmade quilts, painted ceramic sculptures, as well as many crocheted and embroidered items. She loved being involved in social activities including Vesper Hall Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, Red Hatters, church and bible study gatherings. A very organized person, she maintained extensive records of her family history. She also cherished her vast collection of Teddy bears. She loved playing games and organized weekly Farkle games for her friends at The Gardens of Jackson Creek. She was a fast-moving little lady who didn’t like being idle. Her friends at The Gardens often commented on her sassy little walk.
Teddy was preceded in death by her husband, Don Ault; Mother, Grace Sirginous; Father, Aristides “Harry” Sirginous; Sisters Viola Compton and Marie Burns; Brothers Gus Sirginous and Jim Sirginous; Niece Margaret Sirginous Rea and Nephew Michael Sirginous.
She is survived by her children, Jo Ann Ault Clement (Mark) of Grain Valley, MO and Ronald Lee Ault of Dallas Center, Iowa; Grandchildren, Carrie Clement Reifsteck (Trent) and Tracy Clement Thompson (Rocky); Adopted God-daughter Taylor Jones; Great Grandchildren Christopher Sheets, C. J. Reifsteck, Derick Clement, Haleigh Thompson, Nick Thompson and Tyler Thompson and Great Great Grandchildren Rocky Tripp Thompson and Ramsey Thompson as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Timothy Lutheran Church or Great Plains SPCA.
