Catherine was born at home December 2, 1924 to Joseph Penn and Catherine Rose (Bauer) Chandler in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1942. Always reading and studying, she was a gifted teacher as a mother and a church leader. She completed a four year Menninger Bible Course along with numerous other classes she sought out. She read the entire Bible through at least twelve times. She taught every age group in various Baptist churches in the area even leading a Bible Class in her senior living apartment until she was 90. The Women’s Missionary Union was dear to her heart. She taught us to treat every person with kindness no matter how they look or what other people think of them.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Donna Ryan (John P.), son, Dr. Timothy A. Lines (Ginger), grandchildren Sarah Shackleford (Christopher), L. Kathryn Bayliff (Michael), John J.
