Cherished grandmother to Jacqueline and Greta Hall; and great grandmother to Lia Grace of Norwell, MA. Loving sister-in-law to Nancy Morganstern of Weston and Barnstable, MA; and Lawrence C. Teel and his wife Marilyn of Victor, NY. Beloved Aunt “Dee-Dee” to Ginger Baird of Bisbee, AZ; Beth Tollas of Newport, RI; Tom Morganstern of Falmouth, ME; Roger Morganstern of Ashland, MA; and Aunt “Geege” to Kathleen Teel Wagner of Victor, NY and David Teel of Honeoye Falls, NY.
Virginia graduated as a nutritionist and home economist from Framingham State University where she was honored as an “Outstanding Alumna”. She was crowned as “Mrs. Massachusetts” in 1960 and placed runner-up to Mrs. America that same year. She was very talented and poised!
Virginia was a passionate speed skater, enjoying long glides at the rink, Long Pond and on the lakes in St. Paul, Minnesota. She loved and appreciated nature on the Cape and Sanibel Island; and was a lifetime member of the Long Pond Association. She was a Past President and Honorary Lifetime Member of the Osterville Garden Club; and active member of the South Congregational Church in Centerville.
Virginia Teel brought a love, kindness and gentle warmth to all whom she met and knew. For those lucky enough to be her friend and know her well, their lives have been touched by an angel. Her aura of boundless love, compassion and generosity will live forever and never be forgotten. To our family, there is no greater embodiment of love. We will forever love her, and have been truly blessed.
Virginia was enthusiastic about children and nature, and served on the Board for the Osterville Garden Club Charitable Trust which grants scholarships to deserving high school graduates. Donations may be made in her memory to the OGC Charitable Education Trust, P.O. Box 56, Osterville, MA 02655.
A Celebration Service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, December 1 at the South Congregational Church in Centerville.
