Virginia "Gigi" Marie Erickson

Born on October 1, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Albert Francis and Frida V. (Hultgren) Archambault.

She graduated from Bassick High School in 1953 in Bridgeport, CT and attended Upsala College in East Orange, NJ.

While at Black Rock Elementary school, she met her future husband Robert F. Erickson.

Her husband, Bob, chose a military career in the U.S.A.F. After their marriage in 1956, Gigi traveled with him for 23 years to the Midwest, Alaska, Canada, and finally to Mass, where Gigi was a supervising service representative for Liberty Mutual Ins. Co before retiring in 1996.

After retirement, Gigi and Bob spent their winters in their home in Marco Island, FL where they enjoyed new friendships and singing in the choir at Marco Lutheran Church.

They were active members of First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable for many years. Gigi’s life was grounded in her faith. 

Gigi and Bob had three children: Dawn A. Ahearn (Brendan) of Barnstable, MA and granddaughter Emily, Kristine M. Faulkner of Centerville and granddaughters Laura and Olivia, and Keith R. Erickson, who passed away in 2012.

In addition to her husband and son, Gigi was predeceased by her brother, Donald Archambault.

A celebration of her life and resurrection will be held at First Lutheran Church (Route 6A) West Barnstable on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. Burial at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne is private. Memorial donations may be given to ELCA World Hunger Fund, P.O. Box 1809, Merrifield, VA 22116.
