Steven A. Silverstein, age 69 of Dedham, Massachusetts, formerly of Hyannis, MA, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
Steven was the son of the late Ruth Silverstein Ames and Harold Silverstein of Sharon, Massachusetts. Loving brother of Marc D. Silverstein (Cynthia King), Cousins Sheila Fleisher, Susan Gordon, Mildred Lauenger, and Barbara Wiener.
Steven attended Sharon public schools and graduated first in his class in 1971. He attended Columbia University, took a semester in Paris and was awarded a B.A degree with a major in French in 1976. He taught English in a German High School in Bremen, Germany. He returned to the New York and worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for Macy’s and then several New York banks. Steven loved music, theatre, birdwatching and travel. Steven and his girlfriend lived in Brooklyn and spent time on the Jersey shore and traveled to New England, and the Midwest. Steven moved to Hyannis in 2010, where he was an active member of the Cape Cod Synagogue and participated in the synagogue’s seniors group and activities at the Barnstable Senior Center.
