Stevie was born on November 29, 1958, at Cape Cod Hospital to the late Manuel Roderick Jr. and Mabel (Roderick) Daskalakis. He was raised in Marstons Mills village and educated in the Barnstable School System. Upon graduation, he joined the family business, Roderick Construction Company, working alongside his father and brother for over 40 years until his untimely death. The three shared an unbreakable bond that never wavered.
In his early years, Stevie was involved in the Barnstable youth athletic programs, playing basketball, baseball, and soccer with the village kids, where he was a standout player and often made the all-star teams. He also enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and attending the Patriots and Celtics games. Later in life, he enjoyed working in his yard, driving his 1970 Monte Carlo around town, or going to classic car shows. Stevie was known for his sense of humor and was frequently having fun while making jokes and impersonating others. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
Stevie is survived by his wife Lisa Roderick of Mashpee, his children Ryan Corey and wife Melissa of Bridgewater; Brianna Roderick and husband Nelson Hill of Hyannis; Jordan Roderick and wife Chelsea of Mashpee; Darilyn (Dani) Hamilton and husband Damone; and Erica Perry of Mashpee. He was a loving grandfather to his several grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Mabel (Roderick) Daskalakis and husband Nicholas of Salisbury, his brother Manuel Roderick III (Manny) and wife Celia of Marstons Mills, his sisters Kim Fernandes Frederickson of Marstons Mills, and Tracy Carter of Buzzards Bay. He is also survived by several grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends. Stevie was predeceased by his father Manuel Roderick Jr. and his son Steven W. Roderick Jr.
Stevie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601 with a service in the funeral home beginning at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at Marstons Mills Cemetery.
