Rose Ann McEvoy, 94, of Hyannis, died on Wednesday, March 10th. Rose was born in Everett, MA to Joseph and Margaret Crowley on December 27th, 1926. She grew up in Quincy, MA and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Weymouth in 1945.
During her high school years, Rose was recognized as a gifted singer which lead her to study at The New England Conservatory of Music. In the years that followed, she was sought after to perform at church, community, and charitable events as well as many Boston-area venues. In 1947 she married the late Maurice M. McEvoy of Quincy, where they resided until moving to Hyannis in 1971.
Rose was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and wife, truly the heart of her family which includes five children: the late Kevin M. McEvoy of Hyannis; Dennis J. McEvoy of Ogunquit, ME; Michael McEvoy of Hyannis; Peggy McEvoy of Sandwich and Marianne McEvoy of Cotuit. Rose was also blessed with thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Rose founded and managed her own thriving antique business, Early Attic Antiques and Collectibles, located in Sagamore, MA for twenty years. Before Early Attic, Rose worked in partnership with her husband in several entrepreneurial ventures.
A Funeral Mass will be offered for Rose on Friday March 26th at 11:00 at Saint Francis Xavier Church, Hyannis. Burial will be held immediately following the mass at Sandwich Town Cemetery, Forestdale.
