He is survived by his wife Carol (Sweeney) Ward, his son Christopher Ward (Lindsay) of North Eastham, his daughter Jennifer Ward of Centerville and his beloved grandchildren, Madeleine, Caitlin, Cameron, and William. He is also survived by his brother Gene Ward (Lydia) of Carey, NC and his sister Deanna Yeransian of Weston, MA. Additionally he is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He was the youngest child of the late Eddie and Dorothy (Gleason) Ward of Orange, MA. He was raised in Orange and resided in Granby, MA for many years.
Following graduations from Mahar Regional High School (Orange) and University of Massachusetts, he received his law degree from Western New England Law School in Springfield, MA. He practiced law for many years in Western Massachusetts before “retiring” and moving to Cape Cod, where he lived for the past 17 years.
He spent many years in civic organizations such as the Jaycees and the Lion’s Club. He served on the Granby School Committee, the Granby Housing Authority and as the Granby Town Treasurer for many years. He loved politics and worked on committees to support his party’s candidates. Locally, he was a board member on the Friends of the Centerville Cranberry Bog Preservation organization.
The most integral part of his life was the role he played in the lives of his family, friends and clients. He prioritized the needs of others before his own. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He will be in our hearts forever.
A Family and Friends Gathering will be held on December 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM followed by a Service at 11:00 AM at Doane Beal & Ames funeral home at 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association via their tribute page.
