He was the son of the late John P. and Margaret Loretta (Dillon) Curran. Robert was brought up in Milton and Osterville, MA. He later raised his family in Quincy and Hyannis, MA. He loved the Cape and was a seasonal resident until he moved there full time in 2004.
Robert was a graduate of UMass Amherst. He pursued his career as a Real Estate Title Examiner establishing his company, Atlantic Abstract, in Boston and on Cape Cod. He was very proud of his profession serving clients at the Suffolk and Barnstable County Registry of Deeds.
Robert was an active member of the Hyannis Yacht Club, Wianno Senior Class Association, and the Clover Club of Boston. He enjoyed traveling and he loved spending time on Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Robert cherished time with his lifelong childhood friends who will miss him dearly.
Robert is predeceased by his sister Margery Power and brother John B. Curran. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Ruth Dillingham, son Sean Curran (Adria Klora) and granddaughter Rasa of Falmouth, ME, daughter Mary (Timothy) Stump of Hyannis, sister Barbara (Wayne) Perkins of Milton and Osterville, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 8th from 4 to 7 pm at Doane, Beal, & Ames, 160 W. Main St. in Hyannis, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 9th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main St., Centerville, MA . Burial will be private.
