On May 8, 2013 Robert G. Clark III of Hyannis Port and Jupiter, Florida (and formerly of Hingham) died peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was 78 years old. Bob Clark was born in Bridgewater on April 30, 1935 to Louise (Balboni) Clark and Judge Robert G. Clark, Jr. He was graduated from Bridgewater High School—the third Robert G. Clark to do so—and carried on another family tradition by attending the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in economics, Lieutenant Junior Grade Robert G. Clark III served in the U.S. Navy for two years before studying law at Georgetown. In 1962 Mr. Clark joined his father and uncle Frederick Balboni in their Brockton law practice, where he worked for the next 45 years. An AV rated attorney, he was known for his relentless skill at trial. Taking over the practice from his father and uncle, he later partnered with Mark C. Gildea and grew the firm of Clark, Balboni, and Gildea to include two more offices in Mashpee and Providence, Rhode Island, while serving his childhood community of Bridgewater as Town Counsel for 24 years. He retired from day-to-day work at CB&G in 2007 but remained of counsel until his death.Bob Clark was a loving and generous husband, father, and friend; a dedicated advocate for his clients, and an avid boater and golfer. He will be remembered for his kindness—particularly to those in need—and for his wonderfully incisive wit. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Robert G. Clark IV (RG). He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Josephine (Prato) Clark; his daughters Courtney Clark of Aspen, Colorado, and Kelly Clark of San Francisco, California; his brother Richard Clark of Hyannis Port; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Funeral Mass celebrating Mr. Clark's life will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street in Centerville on Wednesday, May 15, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA) Research Fund or a charity of your choice.
