Phyllis was born in Braintree, MA, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Florida (Trudell) Giglio. She was a graduate of North Quincy High School (’50). While in High School, she met the love of her life, Richard who was serving in the Navy and stationed at the Squantum and South Weymouth Naval Air Station. They soon married and moved to South Weymouth were they started their family. In 1961, they moved to the Cape and settled in Hyannis later in life moving to Centerville.
Phyllis cherished the role of mother; and family, above all else was her priority. Industrious by nature, Phyllis worked at the Bargain Center in Quincy as a young woman and later in life as an employee at Burger King. She was an accomplished seamstress, taking on the ambitious task of making her aunt’s wedding gown. She found comfort in her faith and was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Victory.
In addition to her beloved husband Richard, Phyllis is predeceased by her sisters Eleanor V. Keirstead, Maria Maddox and Gloria Bergeron. She is survived by her adored sons; Richard, Jr. of Edgartown, Daniel of West Barnstable and John of Centerville; her 4 cherished grandchildren Brianna, Daniel, Jr., Heather and Sean and her 3 great-grandchildren Hailey, Kyle and Jason. She also leaves behind several loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, March 9, 2020, from 9 – 11 a.m. at Doane Beal & Ames, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601, followed by an 11:30 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, MA 02632. After Mass, Phyllis will be laid to rest aside her loving husband Richard in Francis Xavier Cemetery, Pine Street, Centerville.
