

The Harkins, DeGrace and Pitcher families are saddened to announce the loss on November 4, 2022 of their beloved brother and brother-in-law, Phillip Harkins, age 61, and affectionately known to all as “Uncle Phill”. He was a retired journeyman plumber and gas fitter. and graduated from the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in 1980.
Phillip is survived by a son, Phillip Edward Harkins, Jr. of Malden and sisters, Alice M. Harkins of Fall River, Cheryl Harkins DeGrace and little sister Sue Pitcher, both of Hyannis. Phillip also leaves two nephews: Andrew J. Baldasaro and Derek J. Pitcher; Derek’s fiancée Cristina Rivera-Hibbard and their son Derek J. Pitcher, Jr. Phill will be missed by brother-in-law Dion R. DeGrace, niece Kaylee R. DeGrace, and in-laws Mark, Tracy, Kim and Nana Mary “Ma” DeGrace. Phill will also be missed by his good friend of many years, Tommy Long.
Phillip was predeceased by his father, Charles A. Harkins, his mother, Barbara Burgess Harkins, and most importantly, his identical twin brother John Robert Harkins. Phillip & John can finally be together again as twins.
Besides being an expert plumber, Phill had a passion for football, fishing, and aquariums. He won many football contests, loved the solitude of fishing.
The family is having closed services, no visiting hours, and respectfully asks for no flowers.
Think of “Uncle Phill” whenever you hear a Bob Marley song, accept his blessing that “May the wind be always at your back.
