Mary “Clare” (Teahan) Ford, 92, of West Yarmouth, died peacefully in her home on Monday, March 24, 2025. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she was always pleasant and cheerful and forever proud of her Irish heritage.
She was born on August 14, 1932, in Limerick City, Ireland to Bridget (Moran) and Denis Teahan and she grew up in County Leitrim, Ireland. She came to the United States of America in 1949 and resided in Dorchester and later in Hyde Park with her Aunt Sheila and family to whom she was very grateful for sponsoring her to come to America in 1949 at age 17.

Their homes were a gathering place for the families of their 4 children, 5 grandchildren and extended family and friends. She will be forever remembered by her family for hosting many family Christmas holidays, birthdays, special occasions and get togethers. In her retirement, Mary was able to enjoy her most favorite hobbies of gardening, knitting and decorating her home.
