Martin “Bud” Patrick Doyle III, 84, of Truro, formerly of Hyannis, MA, died peacefully on December 28, 2016, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation, Chatham, MA surrounded by his family. Bud was born on July 9, 1932 in Stoneham, MA to the late Martin Patrick Doyle II and Dorothy Agnes (King) Doyle. Bud graduated from Medford High School in 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was a proud member serving in the Korean War for seven years. Bud was stationed in Okinawa, Alaska and North Truro, where he lived most of his life. After his years in the service, Bud had a love for the sea and he became a commercial fisherman. A captain of his own dragger until he retired in 1992. After retirement, Bud most enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling to Alaska with his brother and enjoyed sport fishing. Bud had many friends who loved him dearly. Bud was an avid sports fan especially rooting for the Patriots and Bruins. He enjoyed playing ice hockey, gardening and loved animals. Bud is survived by his brother, William Doyle of Arizona, his daughters, Debra Doyle, Kelly Zicko, Karen Doyle and Kim Whiting as well as many nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Janice (Lema) Doyle and sister of the late Jean Morgan . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cape Cod 4 the Troops, www.capecod4thetroops.com.
